Shift-lag times. If both have manual modes, which one gets you into the next gear quicker from when you ask for an upshift or downshift?
My benchmark is a 2015 Honda Fit CVT, which shifts “ratios” pretty much instantly with the wheel-mounted paddles. It’s worlds better than most other autoboxes I’ve tried out.

Probably the most relevant question for those of us who want a sports car, but need a sedan. Which one has the better steering. More responsive, heavier, quicker ratio?

How were the seats? I had a 14 Accord Sport and could never find a comfortable driving position in them.

Exterior may be reason alone to get the Mazda! I would hope Honda tunes their 10 speed right and would think it’d be the performance king in this comparison.

Oh Mazda wins with exterior and interior, hands down. No question about it. At the dealership now and this red one looks downright gorgeous

Mazda feels like the only Japanese brand pulling style from Japan’s past. It’s all lines, flow and symmetry. Just about all the brands feel like japans present and future, robots, anime and in your face.

As prior owner of an e90 to a current owner, you are spoilt by one of the best feeling steerings out there LOL. Lower your expectations for modern electric steering, however good they’re touted to be especially something in the midsize segment, when we are not even looking luxury compact cars. The ATS and Giulia arguably have the best electric steering in that segment.

Don’t forget the quirks!

It is nice. My wife’s biggest complaint when she drove it was that the steering was too “hard”. Of coarse she went from an over assisted Chevy Caviler to a full electric Honda Fit. Both of which have totally effortless, and absolutely numb steering. Although the Fit is considerably better, abviously.
A friend of mine picked a 2013 Accord mainly because of the choices he said the Accord has steering the felt most like the older German sedans he’s owned. A 90s 5 series, and a 2003 A4. I hope the current Accord maintains that as I’ll probably end up owning one.
